A Vancouver restaurant in the Mount Pleasant area had a kitchen fire Sunday afternoon.
Vancouver firefighters responded quickly, but the fire spread to an apartment block above the Nirvana restaurant, the Vancouver Fire Department said.

“The fire grew quickly, but crews made a fire attack and put it out,” said Dan Nichols, Vancouver Fire Rescue Battalion Chief.
“The fire is contained and extinguished, crews are now mopping up.”

More than 38 firefighters responded to the call at 12:15 p.m.

No one was injured in the flames.
