Victoria Park lit up for the annual Lantern Festival

Victoria Park was lit up by lanterns of all shapes and sizes on Sunday.

The annual festival was set for Saturday, but was postponed to Sunday due to the weather.

It was the right call as hundreds were drawn to St John’s Park in the city center in warm, sunny and cool conditions.

The festival concluded with a lantern light show on the softball field, with the glow illuminating the sky and green surroundings of the park.

Some of the unique creations included a dragon, a version of Fred’s Records store and even a kraken.

The festival ran from early afternoon until 10:30 last night with musical performances, children’s games, community stalls, workshops, a barbecue and canteen food.

The lantern procession itself included jugglers, acrobats and stilt walkers.
