Ottawa firefighters helped rescuers who were trapped 10 stories up on a swinging stage that had lost power.
The workers were washing the windows of a 14-storey building on Grant Carman Drive, between Basil McDonald Way and Viewmount Drive, when their rig lost power just before 1pm, stranding them.
Fire officials said none of the workers were injured and both were securely buckled in, but were unable to return to the ground. In a news release, the OFS said the workers had been there for about four to five hours.
Using ropes from the roof to secure workers and an aerial ladder, firefighters were able to help get people safely to the ground by 1:52 p.m.
There are no reports of casualties.
