1 killed in a shooting at a Huber Heights gas station involving an officer – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

HUBER HEIGHTS – The Ohio Criminal Bureau of Investigation is investigating a deadly shooting involving an officer at the Old Troy Pike Marathon station in Huber Heights on Thursday night.

“The Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been asked by the Hubert Heights Police Department to investigate a deadly shooting involving an officer involving the Ohio Investigation Department that occurred Thursday night,” said Ohio BCI spokesman Steve Irwin. “There are no injured employees. The crime scene department and BCI’s special investigations department responded.

The shooting took place in front of the Marathon gas station in block 7800 on Old Troy Pike around 7:30 p.m., Huber Heights police said.

Huber Heights police sergeant Brian Carr said two men were shot and taken to local hospitals at the scene. BCI reported that one person died from his injuries. The condition of the second person shot is not immediately known.

Officers taped police tape to block the entrance to the gas station.

News Center 7 saw a gun and a bloody T-shirt in front of the gas station. Police confirmed that the gun was involved in the shooting on the spot.

Police said in a statement that false rumors were circulating on social media that a young girl had been shot. Police say that did not happen.

Police closed the right lane of the northern Old Troy Pike as they investigated.
