Khloé Kardashian is taking things a day at a time when it comes to naming her newborn baby boy.
Earlier this week, a rep for the 38-year-old Good American co-founder told PEOPLE that Kardashian and Tristan Thompson –– who split in January –– welcomed their second baby together via surrogate.
Now, a source tells PEOPLE that the proud mom is putting off naming her bundle of joy until she knows for sure what she wants his nickname to be.
“Khloé is on cloud nine. Getting a sibling for True was such a journey. She is very excited to be a mom again,” says the insider. “She really wanted a boy.”
“Khloé hasn’t shared a name yet,” the source added. “She doesn’t rush the name. She wants it to be right.”

Last month, it was revealed that Kardashian and Thompson, 31, had a second child together. The exes are already parents to 4-year-old daughter True Thompson.
“We can confirm that True will have a sibling who was conceived in November,” a rep previously told PEOPLE. “Chloe is incredibly grateful to an extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We would like to ask for kindness and privacy so Chloe can focus on her family.”

Kardashian and Thompson began dating in 2016 and welcomed daughter True in 2018. They split in June 2021 before getting back together. Kardashian then ended her romantic relationship with the NBA player in January of this year.

Thompson is also father to son Prince, 5, with ex Jordan Craig and son Theo, 8 months, with Maralee Nichols.

Kardashian’s decision to delay naming her new baby immediately comes after sister Kylie Jenner faced a dilemma over naming her own second-born earlier this year.
After giving birth to a baby boy in February, Jenner, 24, and Travis Scott shared a post on her Instagram story a month later, revealing that their child will no longer be named Wolf, the moniker he was originally given.
“For your sons [sic] the name is no longer Wolf,” Kylie wrote at the time, referring to her second child with Scott, 31.
“We just really didn’t feel like it was him. Just wanted to share because I keep seeing Wolf everywhere,” she added, along with a praying hands emoji.
The mother-of-two has yet to announce her baby’s new name, or whether his middle name Jacques has also been changed.
