A former provincial cabinet minister who represented the Harbor Main district under former premiers Danny Williams and Kathy Dunderdale has died.
Tom Hederson was 68 years old.
Hederson, a former educator, was first elected to the county in 1999 and was re-elected three times, retiring from politics in 2015. He held a number of ministerial portfolios, including education, tourism, intergovernmental affairs and fisheries.
Opposition Leader David Brazil offered his deepest condolences to Hedderson’s family, calling the former politician “one of the nicest people you could ever meet”.
