Motorola Razr 2022 arrives with flagship chipset, improved 6.7” foldable OLED

The wait is over, Motorola has finally launched the Moto Razr 2022 and the phone is everything we expected it to be. The new foldable model retains the signature clamshell design and comes with an improved display, dual cameras and a flagship chipset.

The diagonal of the screen is 6.7″, the same as its predecessor, but the similarities end there. The new OLED panel has a better hinge that bends into a pear shape to close completely when folded, supports HDR10+ and comes with a 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, Motorola has done away with the odd notch with the panel that retracts from the bottom and introduced a punch-hole design for the 32MP front-facing camera.

Now, we don’t want to call it a selfie shooter, as selfies will probably be taken with the dual camera on the back, combined with the external 2.7-inch OLED screen, which apparently remains unchanged.

The primary camera has a 50MP 1/1.55″ sensor and OIS identical to that used in the Edge 30 Pro and S30 Pro. The secondary camera is a 13MP ultra-wide shooter with a 121-degree FOV.

The previous two Moto Razr phones had Snapdragon 7xx series chipsets, but finally the Moto Razr 2022 comes with the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

Other specs include support for RAW shooting, MyUI 4.0 interface that reworked some apps to work on the external screen as well, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support and proper DC dimming.
