It looks like it won’t be a family affair at Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s wedding in Georgia this weekend. The Justice League star’s brother, Casey Affleck, was spotted grabbing drinks at a Starbucks in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 20, the day the superstar couple is expected to exchange vows at Ben Riseborough’s sprawling mansion, according to video captured by TMZ.

In the clip, Casey is seen leaving the store looking preoccupied with his coffee as he is asked why he is missing his brother’s big day. Casey mumbles something back, but his words are slurred and he continues to get into his car without answering any more questions.
Although Casey and Ben have had a close sibling relationship in the past, and many fans are expecting to see the Manchester By The Sea star in attendance at Bennifer 2.0’s wedding, the brothers haven’t been photographed together recently. A source close to Casey’s girlfriend, Kaley Cowan, EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife that the Affleck brothers have a “fractured relationship” and that’s one of the reasons Casey is skipping the wedding.
“Ben and Casey are in a broken relationship and have been for many years,” the insider explained. “They don’t see a lot on one page. The truth is, Casey wasn’t in Bennifer’s epic 3 day extravaganza and he refused to go to their wedding. Not that he wasn’t happy for them, because he was. But he didn’t think it was necessary and wanted no part of it.

While Casey may not have witnessed the celebrity wedding of the year, his mother and Ben’s mother, Chris Ann Boldt, was one of the first guests to arrive. Ben was even by her side when she was rushed to hospital and got stitches on Friday after falling off a dock at Georgie’s property and injuring her leg. HollywoodLife’s source added that Kris tried to patch things up between her two sons “in time for the wedding.” However, Casey “wasn’t moving.”

Meanwhile, this will be the second wedding for Ben and Jennifer. Before the big wedding celebration in Georgia, the superstar couple made it official by registering for a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada on Saturday, July 16. According to a license obtained by Hollywoodlife (below), Jennifer takes Ben’s last name, listing her as “Jennifer Affleck.” At the time, the “Waiting For Tonight” hitmaker laid out all the details in her newsletter to JLo, adding: “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out that love is patient. Twenty years of patience.”

Jennifer and Ben have a love story for the ages. The iconic couple’s romance began while the two were working on the film Gigli in 2002. Shortly after, they went public with their relationship. “We met at a few parties. We hardly paid attention to each other,” Jennifer said during a 2003 interview with Dateline about the film. “We became friends first.”
The couple’s love affair soon became the talk of the town, earning the superstars the first one-name nickname for a celebrity couple: “Bennifer.” In November 2002, Ben popped the question with a $2.5 million pinky ring. As anticipation grew for their wedding, the couple surprisingly called it off. “Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date,” the couple told People in a joint statement. By January 2004, JLo and Ben were officially exes.
Nearly two decades after calling off their engagement, the former couple are back together and calling themselves ‘Bennifer 2.0’. The two became Instagram official in July 2021 when Jennifer shared a photo of them packing on the PDA during her 52nd birthday celebrations. After a year of dating, they decided to give their engagement another try in April 2022, when Ben got down on one knee with a green diamond ring estimated to be worth around $5 million!
