Volunteers and staff at the Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site embraced the Easter spirit by welcoming dozens of local families to take part in various festive events.
Participants began hunting eggs at the Ermatinger site and graduated from the Entomica Insectarium at Canada’s Bushplane Heritage Center. The event included a variety of cleaner hunts, crafts, treats and bug exhibits suitable for children.
Local farms also provided some of their animals for the children to interact with.
Katie Fisher, curator of the national historic site, is excited to see families leave the house and enjoy the Easter weekend.
“It’s just nice to be open again,” Fisher said. “We have missed such events in the last few years. It’s great to welcome everyone back. “
