The UK will have enough gas supplies to meet demand from April to September, and will even supply more gas to Europe due to the low levels of storage there.
That’s according to Reuters.
National Grid expects gas exports to the EU to increase from April to September, when underground storage begins to fill up before winter.
The UK can export gas to Europe via interconnectors, and National Grid expects the UK’s average exports to Europe to be 5.4 billion cubic meters, up from 0.7 billion m3 last summer.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) will become more important than ever this summer, the network operator said. It expects liquefied natural gas supplies to average 6.4 billion cubic meters this summer, compared to 5.1 billion m3 last summer.
Britain receives only about 3% of its gas from Russia, while the European Union relies on Russia for about 40% of its needs. Several European countries have said they are reducing their dependence on Russian gas after the war in Ukraine.
