Arrest for triple murder in Grantville

Investigators say they have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the murder of Grantville gun owners and their grandson.

GRANTVILLE, Georgia – A man has been arrested for killing three people in a Coweta County gunfield. The arrest comes exactly a week after the crime shook the Grantville community.

21-year-old Jacob Christian Muse of College Park has been charged with three counts of manslaughter, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

Details of what led investigators to Muse’s arrest are not immediately available.

Tommy and Evelyn Hawke and their grandson Luke were found on the night of April 8 in the family-owned Lock, Stock & Barrel.

The Hawk family did not comment immediately after the arrest.

Muse was sentenced to Coweta County Jail.

Officials said the joint investigation into the killings remains open and very active.

The family remembers the victims of the triple murder

Tommy and Evelyn Hawke and their grandson Luke were found on the night of April 8 in the family-owned Lock, Stock & Barrel. Their family members sat down with FOX 5 on Friday to remember them.

Who were the victims of the Granville firing range?

Grantville Police Chief Steve Whitlock said 71-year-old Tommy Hawk, owner of Lock, Stock & Barrel, was killed in the shooting, as was his wife Evelyn and grandson Luke.

According to Grantville police, Luke Hawks was 19 or 18 years old.

Luke is the son of Cowett County Investigator Richard Hawke, who was one of the first at Friday’s scene. Tommy Hawk and Evelyn Hawk were the parents of Richard Hawk.

When, where was the shooting?

The shooting happened sometime on the night of April 8 after the business closed.

Lock, Stock & Barrel is located at 514 Bohannon Road in Grantville.

Investigators initially said the robbery took place between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Grantville police said officers were dispatched shortly after 8 p.m.

An increased police presence was observed at Lock Stock & Barrel Shooting, located near Bohanan Road in Grantville. Grantville police say someone shot and killed the owner of the gunfield, along with his wife and grandson.

What was stolen from Grantville’s armory?

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said an unknown number of weapons were missing, but Grantville police estimated that about 40 weapons were missing.

Police also said someone had taken a DVR with a camera from the business.

Authorities are still searching for the person responsible for the shooting and murder of the owner of the Lock Stock & Barrel range, along with his wife and grandson in Coweta County.

Which agencies are supporting the Grantville shooting investigation?

This is the case with the Grantville Police Department, but the small department has about 13 employees, the chief said on Monday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the ATF are cooperating.

Whitlock also said the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office and the Corpse County Sheriff’s Office also provide some support.

Award in the Grantville shooting investigation

There was a combined reward of $ 25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the investigation.

The ATF, Grantville, Georgia, and the National Shooting Foundation, the Firearms Industry Association, have announced a combined prize of up to $ 15,000.

Increase the reward for triple murder

Authorities are searching for the person who shot the owners of a gunfield in Coweta County and their grandson. ATF and GBI investigators are investigating the crime scene.

Gov. Brian Kemp issued an executive order to add $ 10,000 to the award, increasing it to a total of $ 25,000.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone would ask for the prize money.
