Liz Sheridan, who played Jerry Seinfeld’s love mother in his hit sitcom, died early Friday. She was 93.
Sheridan died in her sleep of natural causes, five days after her birthday on April 10, said Amanda Handon, her longtime representative and friend. She did not provide further details, including where Sheridan lived.
Her role in Seinfeld as Helen was her most famous, but she followed decades of stage and screen work. In the 1970s, Sheridan appeared on Broadway in plays and musicals, the latter including Happy End with Meryl Streep and Ballroom.
“She has always been very grateful to her fans and has been blessed to have enjoyed decades of work in the entertainment business,” including her participation in the show for a woman, Mrs. Seinfeld Sings, Hendon said in a statement.
Seinfeld’s other mother, Estelle Harris, died two weeks ago on April 2. Harris, who played the explosive parent of Jason Alexander’s George Constanza, was also 93 years old.

Sheridan had guest appearances on television series, including Kojak, Cagney & Lacey and Family Ties, and played annoying neighbor Raquel Ochmonek in the ALF from 1986 to 1990. She was in Seinfeld for the show from 1990 to 1998, starring with Barney Martin like her husband. , Morty.

“Liz has always been the sweetest, sweetest TV mother her son could wish for,” Seinfeld said on Twitter on Friday. “Every time she came to our show, it was the most cozy feeling for me. I’m so happy to know her.
In an interview with the Associated Press in 1998, Sheridan discussed how nice she was to the comedian.

The actor has appeared in films including Legal Eagles, Forget Paris and Wedding Bell Blues. The 2010 TV movie The Rooneys was among her last credits.
In his book Dizzy & Jimmy, Sheridan told of a novel in the early 1950s with the then-unknown James Dean. Sheridan, nicknamed Dizzy, was a young dancer at a nightclub in New York City when she met Dean. After they separated, he became a movie star, including Rebel Without a Cause. He died in a car accident in 1955, at the age of 24.
Born Elizabeth Ann Sheridan, the New York-born woman is married to jazz musician William Dale Wells, who died in 2003. Hendon Sheridan says she survived her daughter and son-in-law.
