Prison lovers Vicki and Casey White abandoned their orange jeep in Tennessee hours after they were released from prison before the country realized they were missing, sheriffs admitted on Friday.
Vicky, a prison warden, helped Casey, a confessed killer, escape from Lauderdale County Jail in Alabama last Friday morning.
She was supposed to take him to court, but instead they escaped from prison in a police car. Then they switched to Vicky’s orange Ford Edge, which she bought under a pseudonym.
They drove 100 miles north to Tennessee and then dumped the car in Tennessee, and it’s not clear where they went next.
The jeep was found on Friday, April 29, just as news of their escape spread across America, but was not reported to police until last night. Police have now confirmed that this is Vicki’s car and that she and Casey tried to spray paint it before throwing it away. It remains unclear where they are now.
In the car, the sheriff found Vicki’s radio station in jail, handcuffs and keys.
“Someone may have driven them – they may have walked and then stolen a vehicle. “Nobody knew they were gone at the time,” said Rick Singleton in Lauderdale County.
It was a well-thought-out, calculated plan … we are at a loss.
Vicky recently withdrew $ 90,000 in cash from her bank, the proceeds from the sale of her home, police said on Friday. New photos of Casey’s many tattoos have also surfaced, including back ink on a Confederate flag and Nazi symbols.

In a message to Vicki, Sheriff Singleton said, “If you’re still safe, get out and surrender.”

Authorities are also reopening an investigation into the mysterious death of his ex-girlfriend Christy Shelton in 2008 in light of his escape with Vicki.
Casey, 38, was there when Shelton was shot in the chest with a shotgun. Her death was defined as suicide, but her family never believed the story, WAFF reports.
Casey has a history of partner violence after shooting his ex-girlfriend during a crime in which he killed a dog and kept her roommates at bay.
The 2015 incident culminated in a 6-foot, 9-inch “monster” sentenced to 75 years in prison on charges including attempted murder.
The search for Casey and security guard Vicki White, 56, has intensified as Lauderdale County lawmakers joined forces with U.S. marshals, secret services and other agencies to find the fugitive couple.
The two developed a secret “special relationship” during telephone conversations while Casey was being held in another prison.

On Thursday, Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton – Vicki’s boss – said demand for the couple was growing, but they still had “no idea where they were”.
Authorities warned that the two were “armed and dangerous” and that Casey White was a “bad man” – he admitted to killing a 59-year-old woman in 2015 while serving a 75-year sentence for other crimes.

On Thursday, Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said the search for the couple continued across the country, but he revealed that local and national authorities had no idea where the two might be.
“We really have no idea where they are,” he told Al.com.
He continued: “I don’t know what their game plan was. Obviously, this is very well planned. It is possible that they are just hiding somewhere and waiting for things to calm down.
The sheriff added that his department had brought advisers to his colleagues, some of whom are still shocked that the 17-year-old star could have escaped with a recognized killer on the day she was due to retire.
“I think some of them had received gifts for her and different things because everyone respected her, but some of them almost looked at her as a mother,” Singleton said.
“They’re just ruined.”
Shelton was shot in the chest with his rifle cut off. Casey was there when she died, authorities say, but her death was determined to be suicide.

Casey was transferred from the state prison to the county jail, where Vicki worked in February, to stand trial on separate counts of murder.

The video of her taking the 6-foot-9-inch prisoner out of prison shows that she was “prepared” to help him escape, said Susan Constantine, president of the Academy of Human Behavior.
“It was really obvious to me what was going on here was planned, methodical, and she had played it on her mind, even as she parked the car,” she told Fox News. “She was prepared.”
Her “agitated gait” when she got out of her car and got in to get Casey shows that she was “rough on the edges” and somewhat manly, Constantine said.
Authorities are on the eighth day of a search for the fugitive couple by a U.S. marshal. They could be armed with an AR-15 and a rifle, and they may have used a 2007 copper Ford Edge to escape.

Apparently the lovers paused on Friday after Vicky told bosses that she would take Casey to a mental health assessment on her last day before retiring.

The cruiser was found abandoned in the central parking lot a few hours after the escape.
The prisoner and the murderer he confessed shared an intimate relationship from 2020.
The inmates claim that Vicki ensured that Casey “gets extra food on her trays” and “gets privileges that no one else has,” a statement Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton told CNN was confirmed by an independent investigation.
“As far as we know, this was the earliest physical contact they had,” Singleton told the prosecution. He claims that Casey and Vicki continued to communicate after the accused killer was sent back to prison.
But cops and federal agents launched a massive search and provided more information about the duo – including that the jailer herself has two aliases.
The harassment comes when Casey’s ex-girlfriend asks Vicki to run away from the killer, warning her that she is not safe with him.
Sheriff Singleton, who described Vicki as an “exemplary employee,” appealed to the former warden to surrender.
“Vicki, you’ve been in this business for 17 years, you’ve seen this scenario happen more than once, and you know how it always ends,” Singleton told Good Morning America on Wednesday.
In 2020, Casey’s request to be transferred from prison to the county jail was rejected after authorities discovered a makeshift knife hidden in a shower that they thought he intended to use to force someone to release him.
“Now go on and finish now, get on the phone and call 911, surrender and help us get Casey White back behind bars, because you know this is where he will end up.”
The sheriff said investigators had “no idea where they might be” since Wednesday morning.
