Aaron Mostofsky, who dresses as a caveman for Capitol Riot, receives eight months in prison

Aaron Mostofsky, who dressed as a caveman to storm the Capitol, was sentenced to eight months in prison on Friday. “What you and others have done that day has left an indelible mark on the way our country is perceived,” US District Judge James Boasberg told Mostofsky. “You dressed like a caveman and played a fantastic role.” Mostowski, son of Kings County High Court Judge Stephen Mostowski, said he had just joined the crowd without realizing the wholeness of what he was doing. “When it started to get chaotic to a point I’ve never experienced, I started making bad decisions,” he said. Mostofsky walked past officers trying to use barriers to defend the Capitol before finally making their way into the Senate wing. Days later, he boasted in a text message that there would be no repercussions because his “brother is affiliated with the Conservative Party and my father is a judge.” In addition to his prison sentence, he must pay $ 2,000 in restitution and serve a year of controlled release.
