Numerous programs looking for locals who want to help Ukrainians ready to arrive in NL

There are a number of programs available to locals who want to offer help to about 175 Ukrainian refugees who are due to arrive in the province on Monday.

Residents can help by identifying available job opportunities by sending open positions to a new email (ukrainianfamily@gov.nl.ca) created for this purpose.

Another email has been created (Ukraine@ancnl.ca) for those who are interested in offering donations of goods or services, or who are interested in offering accommodation. Those interested can also call 709-325-0881.

Donations can also be made through the New Canadian Emergency Fund Association.

The New Canadian Association is also recruiting volunteers who are interested in working as translators in Ukrainian or other languages, as part of the Family Match program or as partners in the conversation circle, to help newcomers practice conversational English. Those interested can send an email to volunteer@ancnl.ca.
