The potential revocation of Rowe’s rights to abortion against Wade in the United States is an unwanted attack on women’s fundamental freedoms.
The left was predictably outspoken in its condemnation of the Supreme Court’s draft ruling, which, if passed, would overturn the landmark ruling that provides constitutional protection for women to terminate their pregnancies in America for half a century.
Still, I can’t say that I have a lot of truck with the Democrats condemning the leak of information from the Supreme Court – as if I can’t use the word “woman” to describe an elderly human woman. “Births have a right to freedom,” tweeted Francesca Hong, a Democratic politician from Wisconsin.
“Deciding whether or when to become a parent is one of the most personal, life-changing decisions. Access to abortion and reproductive care is a solution that we must trust in everyone based on what is best for their health and future.
I guess what is best for the health and future of most women is not to describe them as “birth bodies.” How can these people expect to stand up for women’s rights when they seemingly pretend that men can also have abortions?
There is a name for people who can get pregnant, have babies (and abortions). They are called women.
This move by the Supreme Court did not come out of nowhere. Republicans have been working to achieve this for decades. I can’t help but wonder: if the Democrats hadn’t spent the last few years seizing pronouns, could they have been more effective in mobilizing against it?
Instead, they have trampled on trans-extremists, and as a result, women will suffer again.
