The A57 closes hours after a major accident at Mottram Moor

The A57 was closed in both directions after a serious accident at Mottram Moor late Sunday night. The road was closed to traffic between BB6174 and A628 near Mottram in Longdendale and remained closed until Monday.

Greater Manchester police were called to the scene with a cordon. A serious investigation into the collision has been carried out due to the nature of the accident, the National Highways reported.

The closure was in force at around 11.20 pm and reopened at around 8.30 am, with long delays for drivers. Citizens are urged to look for an alternative route, but there are huge delays in traffic in the surrounding areas.
