An American prison chief who took his murderous 6’9 “lover out of prison on the day of her retirement to escape has been caught and hospitalized after being shot.
Vicki White and Casey Cole White – without relatives – were arrested in Indiana after a car chase that ended in a crash on Monday.
The assistant director of the prison was shot dead after she was discovered by the police in Evansville.
After their escape from Lauderdale County Jail in Alabama on April 29, the two escaped.
The two had become secret lovers before she set up a fake meeting for the murder suspect so he could get him out of jail.
Police described Casey White as very dangerous
The lovers led the FBI on a week-long search that saw them travel through three states.
Vicki, 56, was filmed on surveillance video, holding the door open for White, 38, with a second angle showing how they boarded a marked patrol car and drove away.
The sheriff’s team car, seen in the surveillance video, was found in a parking lot at a local mall.
It later emerged that she had secretly bought a used car to escape in, but was later found abandoned in Tennessee.

Vicki White was transported to a hospital for treatment. Sheriff Rick Singleton said he was unsure whether the wounds were from the wreckage or not.
Sheriff Singleton said the recognized killer White “will be returned” to his prison in Florence, Alabama.
He said: “He will not come out of this prison again.”
Vicki White, who was due to retire 25 years after her disappearance, first met Casey in 2020.
He was brought to Lauderdale County for questioning after writing a letter confessing to the 2015 murder of Connie Ridgeway.
