“Devastation” as a “fluffy and beautiful” mother was found dead in her home

A beautiful and “infantry” mother was found dead at her home in Huyton this morning, prompting a search.

Merseyside police received calls around 8:30 a.m. that a woman’s body had been found at a property on Radway Road, Houghton, near the intersection with Lime Cross Road. Officers and paramedics arrived, but the woman was pronounced dead on the spot.

The victim is identified locally as Lorraine Cullen, a 43-year-old mother who has lived in the area for several years. Merseyside police confirmed her identity, saying her relatives had been informed and supported by specially trained staff.

A 21-year-old man, whom detectives say is known to the victim, was later arrested on suspicion of murder. ECHO was told he had been arrested on York Road, a short distance away, where detectives are also investigating this morning.

Ms. Cullen is said to have a young daughter of primary school age who lives with her on the property, as well as an older son and an older daughter.

A woman who lived near the scene told ECHO: “It was just after all the children went to school. The police came and several people gathered outside. I heard she was dead.

“The ambulances came, but they didn’t let anyone in. I didn’t know her well, but she was a wonderful person. I went when the little one was playing in the garden and talked to her. She was playing outside on a trampoline last night. “

Detectives in white protective suits could be seen coming and going from the property this morning as detectives conducted door-to-door investigations. Another neighbor told ECHO: “She was a beautiful looking girl, it’s devastating, absolutely devastating. She was nimble, I didn’t know her well, but she was beautiful.

“I just heard the police just before nine this morning and I ran away, they were cut off from the road. The ambulance came and they went inside, but they didn’t take anyone out.”

Detective Inspector Laura Lamping said: “We can confirm that a 40-year-old woman unfortunately died this morning after an accident at a house in Houghton. Although an arrest has been made, we are at a very early stage of the investigation as we seek to establish what happened at the address.
