Ashley Westwood of Burnley was pulled out with a serious leg injury and taken to hospital after a collision with Nikola Vlasic, which left the West Ham player visibly worried.
The injury came after a 50-50 challenge with Vlasic in the 22nd minute of the Premier League match, which left the Burnley man in agony and signaled on the bench.
He was treated for 10 minutes on the pitch by medical staff before being applauded by both groups of fans at the stadium in London.

Vlasic was almost in tears after witnessing the injury, while other players were also visibly upset by the incident.
Burnley’s manager Mike Jackson confirmed to Sky Sports in an interview after the 1-1 draw that Westwood had been taken to hospital.
“He went to the hospital and is being examined,” he said. “Obviously we know it doesn’t look very good, but squeezing my thumbs isn’t so bad [as it seemed].

“The incident with Ash affected the group … because he is their friend. We just hope it’s okay. Given everything that happened this week and what happened in the match today, this is a good point for us, in the end. “
Speaking after the match, West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek said: “It was a terrible injury and I just hope Westwood feels very, very soon. I just wish him all the best.”

Asked if the injury had upset his country, the Hammers manager said: “Yes, we shut down because of the incidents.
“We gave a free kick, they centered it and finally got a corner from him, from which they scored, so it was not very good of us.
“Before Ashley Westwood’s injury, we were in a bit of a rhythm. We were the better team after the first period and I really think so [Westwood’s injury] he took us out of it again.

“After the goal we were not very good until the halftime, but we improved in the second half and missed chances, but for us today the result was everything and the only thing that mattered.
“I don’t think the interruptions helped us because they made us go back to where we started the match, but by the end we had probably done enough to win.”
Asked how Vlasic was following the incident, Moyes said: “I think it’s good. I haven’t seen the incident again, but I’m told it’s not really close to him and there’s nothing involved in it, so there’s nothing to worry about.
“If you participate in something like this, it can have an effect on you. I think he was really upset that another player got what we thought was a serious injury at the time, and that’s probably because I haven’t heard what it is. “
