Police have identified the victim of the murder in Halifax

Halifax police have identified the man who was shot dead on Brunswick Street on Saturday.

According to a press release, the victim is 18-year-old Simon Joseph Morrison from Halifax.

The death has been identified as a homicide following an autopsy performed by the Nova Scotia Forensic Medical Service.

Police say they received a call for a gun at 1:37 a.m. Saturday on block 2400 on the street.

They found Morrison on their arrival. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not believe this is an accidental incident, according to a press release.

This is the third deadly shooting in Halifax in the last month.

Trevikhon, 25-year-old Arik Bradshaw, was killed in a March 18 killing on Göttingen Street, while Kiesondre Kentrez Smith, 20, died eight days later after being shot in Hollis Street.
