National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd says that transporting migrants by bus to Governor Abbott’s District of Columbia “draws national attention to an issue that the White House continues to ignore.”
Democratic Democratic Gov. Beto O’Rourke on Sunday accused Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of “boosting inflation” and “killing business” in the state with a truck inspection policy that the governor canceled two days later. early after concluding a deal with Mexican officials.
Earlier this month, Abbott ordered Mexican commercial trucks to undergo secondary inspections as part of the Biden administration’s fight over the border crisis. The governor revoked his immigration order on Friday after reaching agreements with neighboring Mexican states, which he said have made new commitments to border security.

Against the backdrop of record inflation across the country, reaching 8.5%, Democrats took advantage of Abbott’s order, which blocked traffic for days, contributing to the problems of the national supply chain and the inflation crisis. Appearing on MSNBC’s The Sunday Show, O’Rourke did not mention that Abbott had raised the order two days earlier and said the governor’s policies “provide higher prices for consumers in Texas.”
“It just shut down almost all trade coming to the United States, which raises inflation, kills businesses, especially at the border, and guarantees higher prices for consumers in Texas and more supply shortages for those who want to buy groceries, for example. at the supermarket this weekend, “O’Rourke said.” It really hurts this state and doesn’t provide additional security or safety benefits. That’s why so many people in Texas want change. “

O’Rourke also criticized Abbott for transporting migrants to Washington, D.C., and accused the governor of threatening his state’s National Guard by sending them to the border.
“This is another political ploy that Greg Abbott has done that has done nothing to improve the safety and security of Texas or the rest of the country on this issue,” O’Rourke said. “This is part of his activation of 10,000 members of the National Guard, whom he sent to the Texas-Mexico border, where they have no authority to arrest or detain, but four of these guards have taken their own lives since they were were taken from their families, from their communities, from their children. ”
