An accident sent two people to hospital early Sunday morning and forced Calgary police to close roads in northwestern Calgary.
Officers were called to 14th Street and Memorial Drive shortly after 2:30 a.m. for head-on collisions.
A man, a passenger in one of the cars, was rushed to a hospital in serious condition with danger to life.

Police told Global News that the male driver of the same vehicle was also injured and detained for alleged drunk driving.

Police say the driver of the second car was not seriously injured.
14th Street Northwest was closed in both directions between Kensington Road and Memorial Drive for most of Sunday morning as officers continued their investigation.
