The 67-year-old comedian starred as a semi-fictional version of himself in the classic sitcom “Seinfeld” and took to Twitter to mourn the loss of Liz Sheridan, played by his overprotective mother Helen on the show. The 93-year-old actress died of natural causes on Friday.

He wrote: “Liz has always been the sweetest, sweetest TV mother her son could wish for. Every time he came to our show, it was the most cozy feeling for me. I’m so happy to know her. “

Jason Alexander – who plays Seinfeld’s best friend and assistant George Costanza in the longtime sitcom – also paid tribute after hearing the news.
