The boy shouted “Get off my face, boy” before Ava White was stabbed

The boy who allegedly killed Ava White was shouting “get my face off, boy” just before she was stabbed, the court heard.

Ava died after being stabbed at School Lane in downtown Liverpool. Boy A takes responsibility for her fatal trauma, but says he acted in self-defense.

The teenager, whose name cannot be named for legal reasons, denies murder and manslaughter. Liverpool’s Royal Courts are hearing evidence from friends who were with her during the November 25, 2021 incident. Today, jurors heard girl F, one of Ava’s many friends tonight.

A number of other boys and girls of all ages have already provided evidence in court in the form of police interviews and pre-recorded cross-examinations. Girl F was with Ava while she was stabbed, although like other children who have already testified, she said she initially thought the 12-year-old had been hit only in the neck.

Earlier, the jury heard that in the hours before Ava was stabbed, she and her friends were in town drinking vodka and hanging out near St John’s Mall. After being removed by security, they had moved to Williamson Square before Ava got angry after seeing another group of boys who seemed to be photographing them.

They then passed through Church Street and School Lane, where Girl F said Ava kept trying to follow the boy and approached him while telling him to delete the video he had taken of her. Girl F said that Ava was particularly annoyed because the group did not know him and did not want videos in which they “behave stupidly” on social media.

Just before the stabbing, she said that Ava met face to face with boy A and told him to delete the video again. She said, “The next minute we just hear ‘get off my face, boy,’ and I thought he pushed her, but he stabbed her.” He walked around us with a smile on his face.

Girl F and other friends said they chased him afterwards, but he managed to escape. It wasn’t until she returned to School Lane that she realized that Ava had been badly injured.

Earlier in the day, another friend, Boy J, told the court he was not there at the exact time Ava was stabbed, but saw her immediately after she ran to him. He said, “I heard Ava say, ‘I’ve been stabbed, I’ve been stabbed.’ I just heard it as I was about to turn the corner, so I turned around [Girl D] he grabbed her and she ran towards me. “

Boy J said he saw boy A running away with other children chasing him, and it wasn’t until he approached Ava that he saw her injuries. He said: “Then they brought Ava, everyone could see her, because [Girl D] he grabbed her and she just coughed up blood and then went back.
