The man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in North York

A man was seriously injured when stabbed in the New York neighborhood of North York, Toronto police said.

Officers were called to the Yonge Street and Cummer Avenue areas north of Finch Avenue shortly after 2:45 p.m.

Police said they arrived on the scene and found a man stabbed in the chest.

He was rushed to the hospital in serious condition, but without danger to life, police said.

It is not clear what led to the stabbing.

Police have not released any suspicious information.
