Late season snow could affect some long-weekend travelers in inland British Columbia.
Environment Canada has issued special weather forecasts for the Rogers Pass on the Trans-Canadian Highway, as well as for the Kuteney and Paulson Pass at the top of Highway 3.
Light snow is expected to begin in the late afternoon on Monday and decrease on Tuesday afternoon for the Kutenai Pass and late on Monday evening for the Rodgers Pass. In some areas up to 15 centimeters are possible.
Snowfall can be a hit, as some people return to British Columbia from Easter trips to visit family and friends in other provinces.
Anyone returning to Highway 1 should also be aware that the Kicking Horse Canyon will be closed again on Tuesday afternoon after the closure of construction was suspended for the long weekend. If you miss the deadline, you will have to take the longer route on motorways 95 and 93.
