JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The Jacksonville Sheriff is investigating five separate shootings on Easter morning, one of which killed two after a brutal night in Jacksonville.
There are no suspects in custody so far.
According to the JSO, it began on Saturday night at 10:30 p.m., when officers were called to block 5000 on Normandy Boulevard. An initial investigation revealed a large crowd and a 17-year-old boy was shot dead. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Just after midnight, officers responded to a 5,000-block block on Roosevelt Boulevard with reports of gunfire. The JSO said the car club meeting turned violent when one man was shot. A 17-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The JSO is investigating numerous shootings as the brutal night spills over into the morning. As a result, a total of six people were shot and two were killed.
At 4:45 in the morning, the employees went to block 5700 on Normandy Blvd. after a shooting call. There, the victim said he was on the I-295 interstate when he heard gunshots and learned he had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The fourth reported shooting took place on Powers Avenue and Toledo Road, where two men were fatally shot. According to the JSO, this happened in a parking lot during a large gathering. An argument broke out and shots were heard. There are currently no suspects in custody, police are questioning witnesses and trying to obtain video from surveillance.
“These people may have had children. They had families who loved them. It just has to stop, “said Carly Laramor, who lives nearby. “It happened on Easter, which is really, really, really frustrating and sad.”
Another shooting was reported on Hubbard Street and East 8th St, where the JSO found a man shot in the arm with non-life-threatening injuries. He was on the street when he was shot, and a neighbor called police after hearing the shots.
