Handheld maker Aya Neo is adding the Aya Neo 2 and Aya Neo Slide to its range of portable PC gaming devices, both of which will come with an upgraded Ryzen 7 6800U chip and integrated Radeon 680M graphics processor with RDNA 2 graphics, according to a Liliputing report. . The Radeon 680M iGPU is capable of displacing 3.38 teraflops, more than twice the 1.6 teraflops provided by Steam Deck.
As mentioned by Tom’s hardware, the Ryzen 7 6800 APU (accelerated processor) comes with eight cores and runs on the faster Zen 3 plus architecture. It also comes with a built-in Radeon 680M iGPU that has 12 units of account (CU). By comparison, Steam Deck has a quad-core AMD APU that runs on the older Zen 2 architecture and an iGPU with RDNA 2 graphics and eight CUs. Judging by these specifications, Neo 2 and Neo Slide could have the potential to surpass Steam Deck – but we won’t know for sure until we see the devices in action.

While Slide and Neo 2 will be available with support for LPDDR5-6400 RAM, Aya says Neo 2 will also include PCIe 4.0 storage, USB 4.0 ports, and a fingerprint scanner. In addition to some interior improvements, the exterior of the device has also been substantially redesigned. The Neo 2 replaces the harder edges of its predecessor with more rounded corners, making it look much more like the Aya Neo Next, which the company released earlier this year. It also has an updated dark / light gray color scheme that reminds me of classic Nintendo consoles.
However, the Neo Slide comes with an even more interesting design. As its name suggests, the screen slides up to reveal an backlit RGB keyboard, something like a larger version of the Motorola Droid 4 (and other older phones) that have the same functionality. It’s not clear how well this will work, but it would be cool to drag the screen up and start writing to friends without much interruption.

Aya Neo has not provided release dates for Neo Slide or Neo 2, but says they will come later this year. And while there are no pricing details, the devices probably won’t be cheap – Aya Neo, Aya Neo Pro and Aya Neo Next all cost over $ 1,000, much more than the starting price of $ 399 on Steam Deck. We can see prices that are (hopefully) closer to Steam Deck with Aya Neo’s upcoming launch Neo Air, but obviously there will be a trade-off when it comes to performance.
