“I couldn’t do it anymore”

It’s been almost two months since the tragic death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, and friends and fans around the world are still trying to figure out what led to his sudden death at a Colombian hotel.

A detailed Rolling Stone story has now emerged that brings together stories from the last days of Hawkins’ life through interviews with 20 people close to the drummer. The most striking story comes at the beginning of the song by Pearl Jam drummer and Hawkins collaborator Matt Cameron, who said that Hawkins, “… had a heart with Dave [Grohl] and, yes, he told me that “heck, he can’t do it anymore”… I guess they’ve come to some understanding, but it seems that the tour schedule got even crazier after that. “

The ping-pong report between accounts of friends and representatives of the group. Friends echo what Cameron hinted at, how Hawkins felt physically and mentally exhausted from the many three-hour sets on busy tour schedules. But then a Foo Fighters spokesman disputed that he had expressed concern, saying: “No, there has never been a heart-to-heart – or any meeting on the subject – with Dave and [Silva Artist Management]”

“The fact that he finally talked to Dave and really told him he couldn’t do it and that he wouldn’t do it again was liberating for him,” an anonymous colleague added, adding: “It took * cking balls. It really took a year of courage. “In contrast, a group spokesman said Hawkins said” … he never informed Dave and [management]”Something like that.”

Among other memories, producer Andrew Watt said Hawkins wrote him messages the night before he died. Although he was initially annoyed that Watt (who was in the studio) didn’t pick up, Hawkins’ latest message, always inspired, included an audio drum file he suggested, Watt should “do something about it with one of your artists.” he added that “that would be great. It’s fun and fun and look at that.
