Maple Leafs star SUV Mitch Marner stolen in armed car theft: numerous reports

There are numerous reports that an SUV belonging to Toronto Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner was stolen in a car theft at the western end of the city.

Toronto Sun, Global News and City TV quoted unnamed police sources as saying that Marner’s black Range Rover had been taken to a cinema in Etobico.

Police confirmed that there was a car theft without injuries, but did not provide information about the victims or witnesses.

The Sun says Marner was shaken but not injured.

Police tweeted that they were called to the Queensway and Islington Avenue areas around 7:46 p.m. to report a man robbed of his car.

Authorities are looking for three suspects, armed with two pistols and a knife, who took off with the stolen car.

Marner and Leafs were eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday in the seventh and decisive match against Tampa Bay Lightning.
