Manitoba reintroduces the TRIP program before the long May weekend – Winnipeg

Manitoba returns the Tourism Discount Promotion Program (TRIP).

The program, which began last summer, encourages Manitoba residents to go out and travel around the countryside by offering a $ 100 discount when staying at any hotel or motel. More than 25,000 Manitobanes have benefited from the program, for a total of nearly $ 2.2 million in rebates.

“With this new round of TRIP discounts, we are encouraging Manitoba residents to go out there this spring to tour our beautiful countryside while supporting our valuable leisure assets.”

“Leaving aside the tracked costs, TRIP respondents told us that they spent an average of $ 510 on their trip, for a total estimated cost of $ 11.2 million, which represents an approximate return on investment of 5 to 1. This program made a huge difference. “Manitoba tourism, and we’re excited to be able to do it again,” said Davidson.

Manitoba residents over the age of 18 can choose from ONE of TWO discount options:

1) Book and stay at a hotel, motel or resort in Manitoba, then get access to a $ 100 discount by uploading proof of purchase on our online platform at www.tripmb.ca.

2) Manitobaers looking for a day trip or excursion can visit one of the 31 participating star attractions in the province and then upload proof of purchase on our online platform at www.tripmb.ca to receive a 50% discount at common entrance.

For phase 3 TRIP, the dates eligible for discounts will be Friday, May 6 to Monday, May 16, 2022, with the receipt window for uploading receipts on www.tripmb.ca closing one week later, at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022.
