Cops say they found the body of Doris Cumming, 82, late Thursday at Armucci’s home, which she shared with her 28-year-old grandson Robert Keith Tincher III.

He is now charged with murder, aggravation and concealment of death.

According to detectives, Cumming’s family believed she had left the state, but after not hearing from her, they reported that the elderly woman had disappeared.

Investigators believe she was injured in a fall last December, and instead of seeking medical help, Tincher claims he put her in the freezer while she was still alive.

“From what we found at the time, he believed she was still breathing and moving when she entered the freezer,” Floyd County Investigator Brittany Werner told WAGA-TV.

The suspect allegedly told cops that he “heard and saw many bones breaking.” He then allegedly wrapped her in plastic bags and put her in the large freezer. He admitted that Cumming’s back was broken when he put her body in the freezer.

According to cops, there were apparently no “quotes or provocations” that led to the deadly act.

He then continued to live in her home with the body in the freezer before moving the body to a warehouse in March. Thatcher allegedly told cops he did not call for help because he feared he would be arrested on a warrant against him for terrorist threats he made against his ex-wife in 2018.

“He said she was the only member of the family who gave him the courtesy, love and attention he needed,” Werner said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now conducting an autopsy to determine when and how Cumming died.
