The Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of bullet holes in the structure of a retail business in Bancroft.
On January 8, 2023, Bancroft OPP, assisted by Belleville Forensic Identification Services (FIS), visited a business on Hastings Street North to investigate damage to the building and surrounding area.
The building and several cars in the parking lot were damaged.
Investigators believe the incident may have occurred on January 8, 2023 shortly after 1:00 a.m.
The OPP has not received any reports of injuries.

OPP are investigating a possible shooting incident Sunday night south of Deseronto near the shores of Hay Bay.
A large number of police, including the OPP Emergency Response Team, searched a residence on Concession Road 3 near South Shore Road around 8 a.m.
Napanee Fire and Paramedics also responded to reports that a woman had been shot by a man.
After several hours, the woman believed to be the victim came out of the house and a man remained inside.
At this time, it is not known if there are any injuries or if anyone has been detained.
