Police are asking for help identifying a suspect in a stabbing in East York on New Year’s Day

Toronto police have released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing in East York on New Year’s Day.

The incident happened near Woodbine and Mortimer Avenues just before 1am on January 1.

Police said two people got into an argument and one stabbed the other several times.

The suspect fled the area before police arrived.

On Wednesday, police asked for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. She is described as aged between 25 and 30, five feet tall, of medium build and with blonde dreadlocks.

Police said they did not have a description of what she was wearing at the time of the stabbing.
