The health unit said the students were either late for at least one vaccine or did not submit their immunization record. The 9,069 elementary students will be suspended if the health unit does not receive their immunization records by March 20.

“Many of these vaccines are commonly administered by primary care providers,” the health unit said. “Parents/guardians of children who have received their vaccines from their health care provider should still update this information with the health unit.”
Parents and guardians can make an appointment at the WECHU Immunization Clinic to get their child’s vaccinations up to date. The health department’s office has daily appointments by appointment only. Public health nurses will be available to update the student’s immunization record and administer vaccines as needed. You can make an appointment on the health department website or by calling 519-960-0231.
Parents can also contact their own health care providers for incomplete vaccinations. If they go this route, parents will still need to update the information with the health unit.
You can update immunization records by calling 519-960-0231 or faxing to 519-258-7288. There is also a secure online reporting option at immune.wechu.org.
