A California man died in a car wash

A man from California died in an obvious strange accident in a car wash when he was trapped between his car and the car, police said.

The unidentified 56-year-old was driving his Scion xB hatchback at the Pearl automatic car wash on East Valley Parkway in Escondido around 11:45 p.m. on Friday, Fox 5 San Diego reported.

For some reason, he got out and was trapped between the car and the car after the vehicle rolled forward, the police sergeant. Chris Leso told NBC 7.

According to the publication, it does not appear that the machine was activated at the time of the accident. The man was alone at the time.

An alarm sounded from the car wash for 30 minutes, but the victim was not found until another customer arrived and called 911.

Police released the man and administered cardiac resuscitation before he was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he died shortly afterwards, Fox reported.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance records to determine exactly what happened in the self-service business, where drivers drive forward and stop when prompted by lights and signs.

The accident was considered a “transport collision” and not an industrial accident, as the driver was monitoring his car all the time – unlike car washes, where vehicles were moving on a conveyor belt.
