Pep Guardiola spent part of Friday talking about how similar it was to continue this season, how Manchester City did not cope with this title differently from the way they handled the gallop last year.
He reiterated that the Premier League title is the most difficult award you can receive, while insisting that it is not to reduce the pain they have felt in Europe.
He reiterated why he said more observers wanted Liverpool to finish first, arguing that City were still newcomers to the elite and that only creating more history over time could change that.

Parallels became his subject, but Guardiola hopes and prays that the symmetry will be distorted just a little on Sunday afternoon.
Just a week more than a decade from that day against Queens Park Rangers, City did not want a repeat of the joke that led to their first title of modern day. They will take the end result, but they could do without a heartbeat.
City had planned for Aston Villa to arrive at the Etihad Stadium and be upset in the same way as QPR, which was plagued by concerns about magic before Sergio Aguero made his name a legend.

“We talked about it,” Guardiola said. “We may have to go through something uncomfortable, but what can you do? Respond in the best possible way, be positive and don’t give up.
This weekend came just as Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp had predicted for centuries.
City and Liverpool go on the last day, the bitter end of the almighty debate. Four points fell between them after a 2-2 draw in Manchester last month. Two defeats between them since the beginning of November.
Liverpool need the service of a team at the bottom, just as Manchester United demanded in 2012.
QPR manager Mark Hughes then had to settle with City. Steven Gerrard, the manager of Aston Villa, has results that he would like to settle for with Liverpool, which could end the greatest season of all time next weekend.
“We have the best opponent in world football, which is a bit unfortunate,” said Klopp.
“Imagine that someone tells you before the season that you will participate in all three finals for the cup and you want to fight for the league. You will say, “Yes, good luck with that.”
“It’s not really possible, but the boys did it – fed by the people here in the building, by our supporters. This is a fantastic time to be a Liverpool supporter. ‘
While Liverpool announced a parade on May 29 for anything, Guardiola is looking for a fourth title in five seasons, an achievement achieved only by Sir Alex Ferguson and Bob Paisley. Ferguson’s best run was five to six.
Liverpool’s fierce rivals have announced a parade for May 29, whatever the last day
So when Guardiola talks about the lack of a big change in approach during the year, he reveals a formula that doesn’t need major adjustments – even if they deviate.
“The day after, we will be happy if we win, but my advice is to just try to be happy playing football, it’s more important than winning titles,” he said.
“You feel alone in two or three days. That is all? Any effort for that? Having it in your resume is good, but no more than that.
“It’s great and then you defend being a champion for a year. Someone has to take us out.
Liverpool waited to see if Gerard’s goal remained stable.
