D’Marie Johnson was shot in the back of the head at the Golden Glide Skating in Decatur on April 10.
The incident happened around 1 am right in front of the front door of the building.
TRENDS:
No arrests have been made so far. Johnson is in a medical coma and is fighting for his life, his parents said.
The family’s lawyers told a news conference Monday that they blamed not only the shooter but also Golden Glide for the shooting.
“D’Marie is fighting for his life, so we ask this community to fight for him,” said lawyer Sean Williams.
Williams asked anyone who saw the shooting or may have more information to call the Decalb County Police Department.

$ 10,000 is being offered for any information leading to the arrest.
“The bottom line is that the most important thing for this family is to find and bring to justice the people or people involved in their son’s shooting,” Williams said.
Williams said the family felt it was not getting enough information from DeCalb County police about the state of the investigation. They also believe that the slide should be responsible.
“Their child was shot in a place that has a history of problems and violence,” Williams said. “Golden Glide has a history of violence in this place, a history of violence and shooting. We believe that the shooting would not have happened if the place had adequate security.
GoFundMe, created to help the family with medical expenses, raised nearly $ 5,000.
