Lizzo makes SNL’s story as the first female presenter to introduce herself as a musical guest

It seems that the singer feels hellishly good in her debut to host “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend, when she was also a musical guest. So much so that on Sunday she made the internet the equivalent of throwing hair, announcing that she was the first woman to host the legendary sketch show, who introduced herself as a musical guest on the show.

“Ladies and Gentlemen,” Lizo said before performing her new single “About Damn Time” during the live show.

Initially, Lizzo claimed to be the first presenter to ever perform. But when a fan pointed out that Rapper Chance – who was both host and musical guest in 2019 – had done it before her, Lizo hurried to make a light edit and clarify her still significant title, creating a story.

But if Lizzo wants a genderless title, we at HuffPost say it can be done. Chance the Rapper introduced itself with the words: “Ladies and Gentlemen… Chance the Rapper” – so we think that Lizzo may be known as the first SNL presenter to introduce himself in first person.
