Harry and Megan reportedly have five bodyguards to protect them during their week-long trip to the Netherlands for the sporting event and have received protection from VVIP status from the Dutch government.
Part of this team of security guards is former Secret Service agent Christopher Sanchez, The sun reported.
Sanchez reportedly served both Obama and another former US President, George W. Bush, for a total of five years.
Prior to joining the Secret Service, Sanchez spent 21 years in national security and now works for two high-profile US companies.
The sun he added that it was unclear whether Prince Harry and Megan were paying for Sanchez’s services and whether he had been recommended to them by Obama.
in the meantime, The Daily Star reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been denied permission to force their guards to carry firearms, leaving their security officers unarmed.
The paper also reported that Prince Harry and Megan were “guarded by a high-level protection program for many high-level agencies” during their trip.
