Some of the more creative car owners in British Columbia have received bad news over the last two years: you can’t put everything on the license plate.
CTV News received a list of rejected custom slogans, as well as those that went through provincial inspections, and tens of thousands of efforts.
The British Columbia Insurance Corporation did not give the reasons why many applications were dropped in 2020 and 2021, but said earlier that some were rejected simply because they had already been accepted.
Others are not allowed because they are considered bad taste or have religious or political connotations. Slogans related to drugs, alcohol and speeding are also not allowed in British Columbia, and anything that is a registered trademark or is too long is “no”.
Some patterns appear and some thought processes are revealed. For example, someone tried to pin the “AWOOOO” sign.
WOLFIE, AROOOO and ARWOOOO were also tried, but all were rejected. However, someone managed to catch “WOLF-00”.
Similarly, both FCANCR and FKCNCR were rejected, as were BE K1ND, BC CALM and BE SAFE, which may be a coincidence, but seems to be a tribute to BC’s chief physician, Bonnie Henry. .

There are thousands more, some of which other drivers would receive, and others that would only matter to the owner of the license plate, all of which were rejected.
But before the province was accused of not having fun, many applications actually reached BC’s license plates, including the ICU4DK and MOIST-1 eyebrows, as well as the IM WRNG and WIFE N2 admissions. “
