Update on the injury of Frederick Andersen Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina Hurricanes goalkeeper Frederick Andersen will be re-evaluated in about a week as he struggles with a lower body injury, head coach Rod Brind’Amour told reporters on Monday.

Brind’Amouy said Andersen would be re-evaluated in about a week to “see where he is”.

Andersen was injured late in Saturday’s game against Colorado Avalanche.

“Carolina is obviously hoping it’s not too serious at the moment, but an MRI will give a clearer picture,” TSN Hockey Insider Pierre Lebrun tweeted on Sunday.

Andersen’s MRI hearing was negative, which is good. He hopes to be ready for the playoffs. But as @SaraCivian says here, the team will have a better update next week for him. https://t.co/XCKYaib0h2

The 32-year-old suffered seven goals in 33 shots on Saturday, leaving the match late after appearing to have suffered an injury while sliding to the left after a save.

Andersen had no light in 2021-22, scoring an average of 2.17 and a saving rate of 0.922 in 52 games this season for the Hurricanes, his first in Carolina.

Hurricanes come into play on Monday, tied with the New York Rangers at the top of the Metropolitan Division with 104 points.
