The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the platinum anniversary celebrations, but cannot play an official role, of course.
If the couple chooses to travel to London to join their family in celebrating the Queen’s throne in the 1970s, they will appear at family events that include the traditional appearance on the balcony as well as a Thanksgiving service at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Paul.
However, as non-working members of the Company, they could not participate in the Trooping the Color or play any central role in the various events taking place during the four-day holiday weekend.
Although the Queen’s growing weakness means she is unlikely to make many public appearances, we hope that at least she will take part in the Trooping procession, either in a carriage or watching from the podium, and then appeared at Buckingham Palace balcony with her extended family for the traditional June 2 crossing.
The moment will be especially touching, as it will probably mark the last appearance of a large family balcony since her reign.
The aides acknowledge that while the Sussex family’s presence means a lot to Her Majesty, it will require a leap of faith on all sides following the bitter consequences of the couple’s damaging allegations in a series of televised interviews after moving abroad.
