Finally, the jurors received concluding arguments in Depp’s trial

FAIRFAX, Virginia (AP) – Jurors are due to hear final arguments Friday in a defamation case against Johnny Depp against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Each country will have two hours to summarize its case in a six-week process. With broadcast cameras in the courtroom, the celebrity process, which attracted strong interest from the start, only gained momentum as fans joined social media and lined up overnight for the desired seats in the courtroom.

Depp is suing Hurd for $ 50 million in Virginia County District Court in Virginia over a December 2018 post she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as a “public figure representing domestic violence.” His lawyers say he was slandered by the article, although his name is never mentioned.

Hurd filed a $ 100 million counterclaim against Depp after his lawyer called her allegations of fraud.

Depp says he never hit Hurd and that she fabricated allegations of abuse to gain an advantage in divorce proceedings.

Hurd testified to more than a dozen episodes of physical and sexual abuse she said Depp had inflicted on her.
