An investigation is under way after 15 people were injured in a boat fire Saturday afternoon in LaSal County yacht harbor, according to Illinois state police.
The fire was reported around 4:26 p.m. at Spring Brook Harbor, 623 W. River Dr. in Seneca, about 11 miles west of Maurice. A total of 17 people were on the boat when the fire broke out, and 14 of the passengers were injured, according to police.
A video posted on social media shows that the boat in question is on fire.
One person was flown to a district hospital with serious injuries. Thirteen others on the boat were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. A port employee also received non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Further details were not immediately available.
The incident is being investigated by Illinois Conservation Police.
