Several schools in Ottawa will remain closed for personal training on Monday as water teams continue to work to restore power after the May 21st storm.
Both the Ottawa Carlton School Board and the Ottawa Catholic School Board said schools that have power up until 3pm on Sunday will be open for personal instruction on Monday.
The OCDSB has announced that 10 schools will remain closed on Monday for personal training, while the Catholic School Board in Ottawa says three schools remain without power. Both councils say closed schools will move to distance learning on Monday.

CHARLETON DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD BOARD
The Ottawa Carlton School Board says 10 schools will close on Monday.
The schools closed for personal training are:
- Arch Street Public School
- White High School
- Brookfield High School
- Elizabeth Winwood Alternative School
- Fielding Drive Public School
- Maryvale High School
- Pinecrest Public School
- Riverview Alternative School
- Sir Winston Churchill Public School
- Confederation Educational Center
These schools will move to distance learning on Monday.
OTTAVA CATHOLIC SCHOOL SET
The Catholic School Board in Ottawa says only three schools will be without power for nine days after the storm hit and will move to virtual training on Monday.
The three schools without electricity are:
- Virgin of Peace
- Sacred heart
- Saint Monica
All other Catholic school board schools in Ottawa have authority and will be open for personal instruction on Monday.
Ottawa’s student transportation authorities say Monday’s service will be based on open schools from 2 p.m. on Friday.

St. Monica School
The Catholic School Board in Ottawa says that the school of St. Monica will reopen to students and staff the day after power is restored.
St. Monica School suffered major damage to the roof during a storm on May 21.
“The roof is secure, covered and inspected by engineers. The building itself is considered safe for the return of students and staff,” the St. Monica School Board said.
“Water damage is limited to the gym and two classrooms. This school section will be cut off for the rest of the school year to allow for repairs and improvements, including the installation of air conditioning for the gym. “
OTAVA FOR STUDENT TRANSPORT
Ottawa’s student transportation authorities say school buses on Monday will be based on open schools from 2 p.m. on Friday.
“There are no changes in transport plans over the weekend, even if more schools receive power,” OSTA said.
Details on the cancellation of school bus routes are available on the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority’s website.
ALGONKIN COLLEGE
Algonquin College says all classes – both virtual and private – will resume on normal schedules Monday at the Ottawa campus.
“Program teams of faculty, coordinators, chairmen, and deans are working to develop plans to restore classrooms on the Ottawa campus that have been canceled. These plans will be communicated to students upon their return, “a statement to students and faculty said this weekend.
All online AC courses will be resumed and postponed places will be resumed.
The Algonquin College Early Learning Center will open on Monday.
