The East Hill confrontation is resolved without incident

During what appeared to be opposition, officers were overheard to tell someone who was probably inside that they had been arrested and that if they followed instructions, no one would be hurt.

Police also advised that they had a search warrant and encouraged the person they were looking for to come out with their hands up.

The incident attracted a crowd of onlookers, but police found a large perimeter around the area.

Earlier in the afternoon, Robert Bratvold, Sask’s director of education. Rivers’ school department confirmed that schools in the area have been placed on a “perimeter lock”, which means classes continue as usual, but children do not go out to rest. He said there was no threat to any school and the measure was taken as a precaution.

This is an evolving story. paNOW there will be more information when it becomes available.
