When Street Fighter 6 was first unveiled earlier this year, one of the strangest and most remarkable things about its otherwise inconspicuous trailer was the game’s logo. Which, as I said then, was very much like clipart.
If you missed it, here’s the Street Fighter 6 logo, as shown in February on the left, while on the right is a clipart that is commercially available from Adobe for $ 80.

Given the long and proud history of the series with nasty logos, it was a huge disappointment! I mean, look at these babies!

So it was interesting to see today that when the game reappeared with a new trailer, this cheap logo was removed and replaced with something a little more slippery.

It’s not really that different. It retains the hexagonal shape of the first effort, along with its font, but changes things slightly by turning this hexagon into a “6”. One that can be read in a trick in two ways, turning it aside to reveal the Roman numerals “VI”, returning to the fact that every other sequel in the series so far has used this convention (“Street Fighter II “,” Street Fighter IV “, etc.):

Is it a great logo now? No. But this is no longer a disaster, I think it’s interesting that they went and changed it so soon and I decided that the inverted thing is neat enough to share! If you want to read more about the game’s great gameplay trailer from earlier today, go here and let Ian – who knows more about Street Fighter than the others put together – guide you through all the changes, including the introduction of a very strange open world section. which is very similar to the NBA 2K neighborhood, only without the sneaker stores.
