(AP) – The office of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says she was on a list of targets of a gunman who fatally shot a man in Wisconsin.
Attorney General Josh Cole declined to name the victim on Friday, but it is widely reported that he is retired Juneau County Judge John Roemer.
Kaul said the suspect was found in the basement of the residence with an obvious self-inflicted gunshot wound in a plan that appears to have targeted people connected to the judiciary.
Zack Paul, Whitmer’s deputy chief of staff, said her office had been informed that her name appeared “on the Wisconsin shooter’s list,” but declined to give details about the suspect.
Kaul’s office did not respond to phone or email messages on Saturday.
